Harris Hill are delighted to be recruiting for a full-time teacher of Economics to join a wonderful school near Basingstoke on a full-time basis (the post is advertised a fixed term one-year contract but for the right candidate, could be made permanent). Due to the department being made of 3 teachers; there is ample opportunity for CPD and a very generous salary is offered.

The school are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to begin as soon as possible, due to the unforeseen personal circumstances of the current postholder.

The department

The College offers both Business Studies and Economics at A-level and both subjects are well established in the sixth form curriculum. Both subjects are popular A-levels and typically have between 20 and 25 enthusiastic pupils taking them in the Lower Sixth. Many students go on to study in these fields in further education.

Business Studies and Economics are currently taught following the AQA specification. The Department is housed in two adjacent classrooms in the college’s newest building, each equipped with an interactive whiteboard.

The new post holder will be expected to deliver Economics. As well as being a capable classroom practitioner the successful candidate may also be willing to contribute to the wider life of the department, for example supporting students entering the RES Young Economist competition.

The School

The school is an ambitious and forward-thinking independent, HMC co-educational boarding and day school of around 640 pupils, aged 11-18. It enjoys a fine reputation for its very high standards, pastoral care and superb all-round education.
