The Department:
The Science department occupies temporary laboratories that have a focus on Biology, Chemistry or Physics. We are extremely well equipped and have three full-time and two part-time technicians who support the department. The temporary laboratories provide excellent accommodation until our new dedicated Science facilities are completed in 2020.

Year 7 and 8 are taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics with a programme which encourages the students to make links between disciplines. In Year 9 they begin the IGCSE programme of study and elect to pursue either double or separate sciences starting in Year 10. Over half of the Sixth Form choose to study one or more science subjects at A Level as a precursor to university study in such areas as Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Pharmacy, Engineering and Pure Sciences.

The department runs a number of clubs and activities for girls across all key stages, from the STEAM team and CREST to Biomedical Society and Astronomy Club.

About the School:
The school currently has a student base of 840 girls aged 3-18. Excellence, courage and integrity are the three fundamental qualities that underpin their education. Girls are encouraged to be emotionally resilient, to learn from success and challenge and to communicate with clarity and assurance.
