Harris Hill are delighted to be recruiting a highly committed, enthusiastic Business Education teacher to join a thriving department in our Senior School.

Applications from probationers, NQTs and experienced teachers are welcomed and previous experience in an independent school is not a requirement. The post is available from August 2019 for a full academic year.

Please note; you must be GTCS registered in order to be considered for the post.

Department Information

The three subjects available in the department – Accounting, Business Management and Economics - are offered at National 5 level in S3/S4 and at Higher level in S5 and S6.  Courses in Advanced Higher Accounting, Advanced Higher Economics and Advanced Higher Business Management are offered to pupils in S6 who have shown significant aptitude and interest. The department actively engages with the world ‘beyond the classroom’ to ensure that its pupils are academically and socially prepared to meet the challenges of education, work and life.

If you come to work at our college, you will be joining a school community with a very strong sense of identity, built on our history and tradition of excellence.

We are a friendly, purposeful and well-focused school, confident in our core business of advancing learning and teaching, while at the same time providing an enjoyable community life for its staff.

Working at our school

Beyond the history and tradition, you will find an energy and youthful motivation that offers enthusiasm and effervescence for learning and culture. Our modern, professional learning environment is excellent, with a focus on sharing good practice in learning and teaching, on Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and on achieving the highest possible academic standards. We offer the opportunity to work with well motivated pupils where teaching and learning is at the heart of all our activities and ethos at the school. The extra-curricular life of the school is a crucial part of the pupils' experience and one in which all staff join enthusiastically.

Above all, the ethos of the school is welcoming and positive, among staff, parents and pupils.

Please send your CV to jess.green@harrishill.co.uk or call 0207 587 5153 for an informal discussion about the post. We look forward to receiving your application.
