An independent school on the Surrey borders require a Teacher and Diversity & Equality Advisor from September 2020. This is a permanent, full-time position which would entail teaching your subject (can be any discipline) on a 50% timetable and working the remaining 50% as a Diversity & Equality Advisor, which would involve analysing data and providing support on equality and diversity matters and writing progress reports against action plans.

Essential: Prior experience teaching or strong NQTs or postgraduates would also be considered. Full support would be provided for the NQT Induction

Regarding the Diversity & Equality Advisor, the ability to learn quickly and assimilate complex information, compile and analyse vast data, deal with gender and other issues requiring sensitivity, write reports at a high level involving complex concepts and the ability to communicate with academic and professional support staff across the whole school would be essential.

Desired: Prior experience working with diversity, equality & inclusion within a professional context or field of study would be a bonus, however, this is certainly not essential.

The school's mission is to foster a thirst for knowledge and a real commitment to learning. Students are shown what it means to take responsibility; they are encouraged to develop a strong moral code with the ability to make informed judgements about what is right and wrong. Central to their ethos is the importance of caring for others and teaching students important skills for later life: social, physical and practical.

The chosen candidate should be well organised, thoughtful about how they teach and how they can contribute to improvement in teaching and learning with high expectations of the pupils, themselves and their colleagues.

If you are an enthusiastic teacher who is also passionate about diversity and equality, please forward your CV asap to devra.farhi@harrishill.co.uk or please ask for Devra on tel: 020 7820 7308 for an informal chat.

Harris Hill is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all partners to share this commitment.
