A leading Independent Preparatory School in London require a SENCO from September, 2020. This is a full time permanent role.

The role will involve responsibility for SEND throughout the school in close liaison with the SLT. The successful candidate will demonstrate best practise throughout the school working with all teachers to ensure children of all attainment levels reach their potential. They must foster excellent relationships with children and parents alike, be a real team player and be committed to wider school life. Central to the position will be to outline the strategic direction and development of SEN provision, leading and managing staff and making efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources. The role would entail assisting pupils with special needs such as: dyslexia, dyspraxia, and mild learning difficulties from Early Years to Year 8 and managing three members of staff.

Essential: At least 3 years' experience teaching pupils with special needs, particularly dyslexia. Applications from experienced SENCOs from secondary school environments would also be warmly received.

Desired: A NASENCO qualification and other certificates or degrees in Special Needs, prior experience holding a management responsibility, and a background in the independent sector, would be a bonus, however, this is not essential.
