A co-educational preparatory school on the East Sussex / Kent boarders is looking to appoint a Head of English for January 2019. This role is suitable for either an experienced Head of department or a driven teacher looking for their first leadership opportunity

The school fosters a positive attitude to life, encouraging children to engage with all aspects of their education. The school wants their children to be happy, to develop a sense of self; to contribute to their community and also the wider world. The school is situated on a beautiful 47 acre site and has boarding facilities. Thereby accommodation would be offered to candidates who would be willing to accept a pastoral duty. A commitment to extra-curricular activity is expected from every teacher within the school.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a track record preparing pupils for common entrance and scholarship exams in English
  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent
  • Hold QTS
  • Have in depth knowledge of the Prep school sector and its demands
