A top independent school on the Surrey borders require an English Coordinator from September 2021. This is a permanent position which would entail teaching managing a successful department as well as teaching English to A level.

Essential: A successful track record of teaching English to A level, and a strong academic record.

Desired: Experience holding a position of responsibility, and a background in the independent sector would be a bonus, however, this is certainly not essential.

The school's mission is to foster a thirst for knowledge and a real commitment to learning. Students are shown what it means to take responsibility; they are encouraged to develop a strong moral code with the ability to make informed judgements about what is right and wrong. Central to their ethos is the importance of caring for others and teaching students important skills for later life: social, physical and practical.

The chosen candidate should be well organised, thoughtful about how they teach and how they can contribute to improvement in teaching and learning with high expectations of the pupils, themselves and their colleagues. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in contributing to the range of exciting co-curricular activities offered by the department.

If you are a passionate linguist who would like the opportunity to lead your own department, please forward your CV asap to devra.farhi@harrishill.co.uk or please ask for Devra on tel: 020 7820 7308 for an informal chat.

Harris Hill is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all partners to share this commitment.
